Crunchy Cereal Ice-cream
Serves 14, Ready in 9 hours
Corn flakes add crunch to this easy no-churn ice cream recipe.
Ingredients
- 400ml Co-op semi-skimmed milk
- 500ml Co-op double cream
- 150g Co-op golden nut corn flakes, plus extra to serve
- 397g can condensed milk
Method
- Pour the milk and cream into a saucepan, heat gently, then take off the hob and add the corn flakes
- Leave to soak for around 1 hour, so the cereal flavour has time to infuse
- Pour the mixture through a sieve and press down gently with a spoon to squeeze the flavour out of the corn flakes — take care not to push them through the sieve, though
- Using an electric whisk, beat the condensed milk into the cream mixture, then spoon into a 1-litre loaf tin
- Cover with cling film and freeze for at least 8 hours until set
- Remove the ice cream from the freezer 5 mins before serving, then serve sprinkled with extra corn flakes
