Leamington FC and OurCoop extend long-standing sponsorship

Leamington Football Club and OurCoop have agreed a three-year extension of their long-standing partnership which first launched in 2015, strengthening their shared commitment to supporting the local community.

As part of the renewed agreement, OurCoop, the UK’s largest independent co-operative, will support the continued development of Leamington FC’s Community Scheme.

The Community Scheme will deliver sports participation, education, health awareness and social inclusion initiatives for the benefit of the local community. The programme aims to both increase awareness of health and wellbeing and extend opportunities to participate in football and physical activity to people of all ages, regardless of fitness level or ability.

The club’s ground has also been renamed the OurCoop Community Stadium following the bringing together of Central Co-op, Midcounties Co-operative and Chelmsford Star to form OurCoop earlier this year.

The updated signage has been revealed to reflect the new name, alongside the club’s new home kit for the forthcoming season under manager Scott Easterlow.

Jim Scott, Leamington FC Chairman said: “Leamington FC wants to engage with the local community through the power of football and the club brand to provide physical, personal and social development opportunities for people of all ages.

“We are very excited that OurCoop have chosen to extend and develop their existing relationship with us as a partner organisation and we look forward to working together to improve the health and wellbeing of the local community.  Their values are very much in alignment with those of our club and we see them as a perfect fit”.

Mike Pickering, Head of Sustainability at OurCoop, added: “This is an exciting opportunity for OurCoop, and we’re delighted to continue working alongside Leamington FC for another three years and to build on our long-lasting relationship.

“As a co-operative, we are committed to supporting the communities we serve and creating a positive lasting difference. By supporting the development of Leamington FC’s Community Scheme, we can help it reach more people and deliver the greatest possible impact locally.”
