Brand-New £1 Million Nursery Set to Open In Cranbrook in September

A brand-new, purpose-built nursery and pre-school will open in Cranbrook, on the outskirts of Exeter, in September.

The Little Pioneers Cranbrook nursery, located on Elm Drive, will open following an £1 million investment by owners, OurCoop, the UK’s largest independent co-operative Society, and offers 100 spaces for children aged from three months to five years.

Ahead of its upcoming opening, its launch was marked by a ribbon cutting ceremony last week attended by the Vice Chair of Cranbrook Town Council, alongside OurCoop directors and executive team.

At the nursery, each child and family will have an allocated key worker who will listen and work with them in partnership to make sure they’re getting the best from nursery life, including updates on their child’s progress to advice on toilet training, food, friendships, sleeping patterns and more.

The nursery will have three separate rooms with a tailored environment for each age group to support their learning and development, while ensuring they have fun at the same time. It will also have on-site parking, a large garden for outdoor play, and a designated parents’ room where parents will be able to catch up with the allocated key worker.

Families can come and take a look around the brand-new nursery and meet its expert team. For more information and to book a visit, please visit Little Pioneers website.

Debbie Slater, Deputy Manager at Little Pioneers Cranbrook, said: “We are incredibly proud of our new nursery. Not only does it look fantastic, but it also provides an inspiring environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive with the support of our exceptional nursery team.

“Each member of our team has been carefully selected and trained, ensuring they quickly become a trusted part of our extended family. With children's happiness and parents' priorities at the heart of everything we do, we are committed to providing the very best start for every child.

“We look forward to welcoming all of our little pioneers as they begin or continue their exciting journey of learning, development, and discovery.”

Councillor Kevin Kendall, Vice Chair of Cranbrook Town Council, said: "Cranbrook has a uniquely young working-age population with a rapidly growing number of children, and ensuring our youngest residents get the best start in life is incredibly close to our hearts.

“We are thrilled to welcome Little Pioneers. They share our passion for community and collaboration, offering our families trusted support and a nurturing environment. On behalf of Cranbrook Town Council, we warmly congratulate the team and look forward to seeing them become a cherished part of our community."

Little Pioneers is run by the UK’s largest independent co-operative, OurCoop. Its mission is to provide a holistic, child-centric approach to education, helping every child to become their best selves whilst also learning about the communities and world they live in.

The first five years of a child’s life provide the foundations that shape their future. During this time, their brain develops more rapidly than at any other stage of life, with around 90% of brain development taking place by the age of five.

Little Pioneers is committed to providing high-quality early years education, with opportunities to learn, explore and grow in a nurturing environment.

Each nursery follows its ‘Pioneering Pathway’ - a bespoke curriculum created by a specialist educational team which ensures every child will develop the knowledge, skills, confidence, and curiosity they need to thrive and be ready for the next stage of their educational journey.

Parents at the new nursery can become members of OurCoop, giving them a say in how it is run and access to exclusive deals as well as special offers from across its Our Co-op family of businesses.
