Midcounties Co-operative Terms and Conditions

Gift cards should be treated like cash – they are not a cheque guarantee, credit or charge card and no interest is paid on gift card balances. We cannot be held liable for lost, stolen or damaged cards.

The gift card can be used in any Midcounties Co-operative food store in the UK. It cannot be used to pay for goods or services in The Midcounties Co-operative’s non-food brands (including Travel, Childcare, Funeralcare, Healthcare, and Utilities) or at any concession. based in a Midcounties Co-operative food store.

The gift card must be presented at checkout at the point of purchase. It may be used for in-store purchases in full or part payment for goods (excluding lottery, Paypoint, fuel or third-party concession products or services), whilst the card is valid.

The gift card must be activated in store, if purchased instore. You can check the balance on the gift card at checkout and (if your card is reloadable) load more funds of a minimum of £1 up to a total balance of £1,000 at the checkout. The amount deposited on, or redeemed from, a card will be shown on the till receipt after each use.

No change can be given from the card and the balance on the card cannot be exchanged for cash. If any item purchased with a card is exchanged or refunded by us, any money owed will be added to the balance on the gift card.

The card remains valid for a period of 24 months from your last transaction (including activation or balance enquiries). You will not be able to use your card after the end of this period and any unused balance on the card will be lost.

We reserve the right to cancel or refuse to accept a gift card, where we have reason to believe it is being used fraudulently or otherwise without authorisation.

We reserve the right to amend the gift card terms and conditions at any time, or to discontinue the gift card scheme entirely. A refund may be offered in appropriate circumstances.

We will not keep money deposited on cards separate from our own funds. Card balances are not covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme or the Financial Ombudsman Service. Nothing in these terms and conditions shall affect your statutory rights.
