Local Community Grant
We believe in putting local change in the hands of local people. That’s why we’re proud to get behind deserving projects and charities who are working to change lives. A local community grant could help you buy extra equipment, help more people or make your service better.
Who can apply?
To apply for a grant to help your project, all we ask is that the main centre of your group is based in a community with a Midcounties store. In most cases, we’ll let you know whether we can offer you a grant within eight weeks of application.
Find out if you meet the criteria for a Local Community Grant
Please see below to find out if your group meets the criteria for low-level funding. All applications will be considered from groups who are working to benefit the local community.
Groups must be either a registered charity and/or a fully constituted community group holding a bank account in the name of that group and have been established for a period of at least one year; evidence of this should be made available if requested.
The person making the application for funding must have a direct ongoing involvement with the group and be a member of The Midcounties Co-operative, you will be asked to provide details of this membership number at the first stage of the application process.
The base of the group applying must be working in the immediate area of a trading site of The Midcounties Co-operative, or no more than 5 miles from this site.
We cannot support individuals, groups promoting or linked to political issues, businesses or for the provision of services to asylum seekers when those services are inconsistent with immigration laws or Home Office policy
Please note that decisions are normally made within 8 weeks of a grant application being submitted, therefore if the event or project that you would like us to help fund is date specific/gives less than 8 weeks lead time before funding is required, please bear this in mind as we are unable to give grants retrospectively.
