New International Co-operative Alliance Director General
The Midcounties Co-operative warmly welcomes the appointment of Bruno Roelants as the new Director-General of The International Co-operative Alliance. Mr Roelants is currently Secretary General of CICOPA, the Comité International des Coopératives de Production et de Services Industrielles et Artisanales or the International Organisation of Industrial, Artisanal and Service Producers' Co-operatives.

Commenting on the appointment Ben Reid, Midcounties CEO who is also on the Board of the ICA said "We are delighted that Mr Roelants has been appointed to be the new Director General of the ICA. Under his leadership, membership of CICOPA has increased from 18 countries in 2002 to 32 countries in 2018. We look forward to working with him in developing a new strategy to ensure that the ICA continues to reflect the aspirations of the over 1.2 billion members and 280 million people who are now employed by co-operatives, 10% of the global workforce".
