Cainscross and Ebley Coop Society in the Great War
In this talk, Chas Townley will briefly explain the origins and growth of the Cainscross and Ebley Cooperative Society from its foundation in 1863 to the eve of the Great War. He will also share research on the lives of 57 society employees who served with the armed forces during the Great War, commemorated on a plaque formerly displayed in the Society’s offices at Cainscross.
