Join us for this special event, hosted by Co-operative Futures, to discover how the co-operative business model is empowering communities to protect their precious local assets and services – from pubs to piers, football clubs to cinemas.
Hear real-life stories of community buyouts, discover why they chose the co-op model and what the pros and cons have been. Who knows, maybe you’ll be inspired to find co-operative opportunities in your community?
Jo has been providing support and training co-operative, community businesses and mutual organisations since 2000.
She has worked with a variety of different co-operative and community-owned enterprises ranging from employee buyouts of private business to the development of community-owned farms, leisure, and cultural enterprises. She provides support and advice on issues, such as ownership and engagement, governance, business planning, finance, and access to investment.
Kathy is an experienced co-operative and community business practitioner, with particular experience in the sustainability and community energy sectors.
Since joining Co-operative Futures, she has provided tailored support to co-operative enterprises around access to finance, business planning, growth strategies, membership engagement and communications and marketing. She has particular experience of working with pre-start-up enterprises.
How Can I Join the Event?
This online member event will be hosted on Microsoft Teams, which gives you the opportunity to have an open discussion with our speakers in a face-to-face video call.
When you book your place, we will send you an email with a link to the event. On the day of the event, there are a number of ways you can join us on Microsoft Teams such as:
