Volunteering and Fundraising Events
Six colleagues from Bloxwich Road Energy joined two colleagues from Healthcare at the school for the North Walsall Academy Summer Fayre. Some colleagues assisted the school directly by manning stands including the cake stop and the inflatable slide. Others supported Healthcare colleagues by running healthy eating activities where pupils and parents had to sort the healthy food from the unhealthy food and try to guess how much sugar was in certain fizzy drinks by putting the correct amount of sugar cubes next to the bottle. Once the activity was completed the pupil was awarded a free toothbrush kit which promoted the importance of good dental hygiene. Photos can be seen below.
Colleagues from Funeral care assisted with the Tedy bear Parachute Jump to raise money for Action for Kids serving drinks and manning the stalls selling cakes and booking the childrens' teddy bears in to jumping from the fire service raised platform. Over £1,300 was raised on the day. Photos can be seen below.
A Carwash was provided to raise money for Street teams and colleagues from Funeral (including Masonry) and Energy raised over £300 on the day - see photo below
There has been some excellent fundraising for Street teams.
The funeral colleagues raised over £2052 (split evenly between Street teams and Prostate Cancer UK) with a charity cabaret evening including a False Monty dance and songs performed by our own colleagues and Street and Laine local act performing for free.
There was a charity raffle night organised by Energy with a local singer Marie Neal performing raising over £1,000 for Street Teams.
