In-store Charity Collections Application
Terms & Conditions
Thank you very much for choosing The Midcounties Co-operative to help support your organisation by means of us providing a collection slot at one of our retail branches.
We have endeavoured to keep the process simple. However, there are some conditions to be met for your request to be to be eligible and dates confirmed, so before completing the detail overleaf we would ask you to take a few moments to read the terms and conditions below.
- 100% of monies raised must be returned to the charity or group concerned. We are unable to support charities or groups where collectors are paid. Please be aware that checks may be made to obtain this information.
- All requesting charities must have a valid UK registered charity number (checks may be made to confirm this information).
- Applications are accepted and dealt with on a first come first served basis.
- We are only able to accept one date request per application per group.
- Please note that we only have two specific weekends to allocate per month, dates requested are subject to availability, and therefore you may be offered alternative dates.
- Slots are allocated for a period of either 1 or 2 consecutive days over the course of a Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Please be aware that only our larger stores are able to accommodate collections or bag packs.
- We are only able to allocate a maximum of three bookings per year for each requesting group/charity.
- We are unable to accept applications for slots which are requested more than 3 months in advance.
- If your group is undertaking a bag pack you agree to remain within the store during our 'core trading' times of 10am to 4pm. You must also ensure that you have sufficient numbers of packers for each of the tills in use.
- We are unable to accommodate requests by groups wishing to set up display tables offering goods for re-sale.
- We are unable to accept applications from those raising funds on behalf on an individual.
- The group or charity must be located within a 2 mile radius of the requested store in urban areas or 4 miles radius in rural areas.
- Collectors must wear uniforms (if applicable), display badges or provide visual information to let customer's know the organisation they are collecting on behalf of.
- Collectors must be polite and courteous at all times, allowing our customers to make their own choice as to whether or not they wish to make a donation.
- A confirmation letter must be presented to the store manager prior to the collection. Without this authorisation, the collection will be declined.
- You agree to inform the Community Team of the amounts raised within 1 month of the collection taking place. Failure to do so may result in future requests for collection slots being rejected.
- The Society reserves the right to withdraw or amend pre-booked collection dates.
