About us

The Midcounties Co-operative has over 350,000 members and more than 9,000 colleagues making it one of the UK’s largest independent retailers.

Our purpose is to work towards a better, fairer world, enhancing the lives of our colleagues, members and customers and the communities we serve. We believe in the co-operative values of:

About our fund

Our fund has been created from dormant member accounts and so it is for the benefit of communities where The Midcounties Co-operative trades. You can see where our stores are located by clicking here.

We distribute funding twice a year in Spring and Autumn and will be working in partnership with nine Community Foundations to do this.

As with all funds there are exclusions, so please make sure that you read our Grant Guidelines so that you know that you are able to apply.

Once that you are sure you can make an application, please click on the county where you will be applying for funding and this will take you to the relevant Community Foundation.

Note that fully completed application forms and supporting documentation needs to be received by no later than 4pm on Friday 10th February 2012

If you are not within a community where The Midcounties Co-operative trades, please ask your local co-operative store for details of their funding scheme.
